Reed house, “one of the few remaining examples of New England continuous architecture in the town” was built on land originally owned by the Dix family. “For a number of years, many Reed reunions were there at the old Reed Homestead…” - “A History of the Houses of West Tremont, Maine” Volumes I, compiled and written by Raymond E. This house may have been built c. 1839. Wilder Blanchard Robbins bought the property in 1877 and moved the house from the shore across the road to its present location.
