11771 | The Wreck of the Schooner Catherine in Somes Harbor |
| Remains of schooner "Catherine" in Fernald Cove, Somesville, 1935. A few years later a storm shifted the hulk to the shore at right where surviving frames and timbers could be seen for some years at low tide. After the wreck and before this photograph was taken, salvagers cut a hole through the side of the vessel to allow the mast to fall into the water and be salvaged. The hole, near the bow. is visible in this photograph. SWHPL 9500 was a duplicate of this item and has been removed. | Description: Remains of schooner "Catherine" in Fernald Cove, Somesville, 1935.
