"Joseph Murphy built the house at Pleasant Valley Farm in 1849. It was below the hill in front of where it now stands. It was only partly done when John D. Lurvey bought the place, moved the building to its present site and completed it. He and his wife spent their lives there and it was afterward owned and occupied for many years by his daughter, Mrs. Henry Trundy and family. It is now owned by their nephew, Ezra W. John Dodge Lurvey’s house was at 195 Seal Cove Road, Southwest Harbor, Maine, Map 14 – Lot 26. John was a carpenter and coffin maker. "Owen Lurvey started to build a house near that of his father at the junction of the Seal Cove and Long Pond roads but did not complete it. Mr. John Finney bought the building, moved it to the Seal Cove road where he owned land and finished it. The place is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Albert G.
