The teacher appears to be the same one as is shown in SWHPL 12400. She may have been either Feodora Woodworth or Doris Motz both of whom taught in the "common school" in 1925-1926 and 1926-1927 as did her husband, Rolf Motz (her husband?). The children are on the lawn of their father's house, William Irving Mayo House - The Central House on Clark Point Road. The building directly behind Ruth was originally the F.S. Mayo Construction, later the Herrick Building at 45 Clark Point Road, Southwest Harbor, Maine - Map 6 - Lot 114. The building with the display window, at the right, 47 Clark Point Road, Map 6 - Lot 113 started out life as the S.H. Mayo Bicycle Shop and was later William Lloyd Carroll's Cash Market at Map 3 - Lot 45. On the left side of the street, the first partially visible building at the left was the Benjamin Conley Worcester Store, built in 1910, at 46 Clark Point Road, Map 3 – Lot 109, MHPC #405-0166 - on the site of E.H. Higgins Blacksmith Shop. The next partially visible building, toward Main Street, was the E.A. Lawler Paint Company, built by Edwin Albert Lawler in the 1920s, at 40 Clark Point Road, Map 3 – Lot 108, MHPC #405-0165.
