Arthur Bartlett Homer (1896-1972) was born on April 14, 1896 to Eleazer Bartlett Homer (1864-1929), the architect of the Southwest Harbor Public Library, and Elizabeth Frances (Hough) Homer (1860-1921) in Belmont, Massachusetts. Arthur married Sara Jeanette Yocum (1899-1981), daughter or Lyman Yocum and Jennie E. (Mauger) Yocum on September 14, 1922. Arthur Bartlett Homer died on June 18, 1972 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Arthur Homer was the president of Bethlehem Steel from 1957-1968.
Arthur’s father built his summer cottage in Southwest Harbor in 1899 and thereby established the Homer family summer estate, comprised in 2012 of three properties:
