Otto Clyde Nutting (1875-1972) was born on August 17, 1875 to George William Nutting, a sawmill tender, and Rosa S. Nutting or Susan Allen Nutting in Concord, New Hampshire. Otto first married Mildred Ann (Richardson) Worth. After Otto’s divorce from Mildred he married Thalia Rebecca Bailey (1893-1978), a stenographer, born on January 16, 1893 to Lincoln Bailey and Julia J. (Soule) Bailey, on September 8, 1915 in Woolwich. Otto was 40 and Thalia was 22. By about 1930 Otto was listing himself as O.C. Nutting, a lumber manufacturer in Somesville, selling "boards and dimension lumber" and "long and short lumber suitable for building purposes." This was apparently when the Nuttings began to rent the beautiful house on the millpond in Somesville. The Nuttings summered in Somesville, leading a very social life there, entertaining and involving themselves in many civic causes.

Gilley (1911-1940) was a great-great-great-granddaughter of William Gilley (1746-1839).According to historian Ralph Warren Stanley, Irene’s funeral at the Methodist Church on Wesley Avenue in Southwest Harbor was well attended. The church, built in 1888, apparently needed repair. The floor dropped 6” during service. That day may have been the last day the church was used. – 05/28/2014

Marguerite S. King was born on August 21, 1882 to Merrill Baxter King (1845-1930) and Ella M. (Tower) King (1851-) in Tremont, Maine. Her father was a “Sea Captain” and a “fisherman.” The family lived in Belmont, Massachusetts by the time this photograph was taken, where Marquerite attended Belmont High School. She later taught sewing and dressmaking in various Boston schools until at least 1940. She never married. Marguerite grew up in her father, Merrill Baxter King's house.

Arthur married Sara Jeanette Yocum (1899-1981), daughter or Lyman Yocum and Jennie E. (Mauger) Yocum on September 14, 1922. Arthur Bartlett Homer died on June 18, 1972 in Hartford, Connecticut. Arthur Homer was the president of Bethlehem Steel from 1957-1968.
