The Freeman Cottage and Ashmont Stable

The Freeman Cottage, also known as the Ashmont Hotel, is now The Inn at Southwest, which still stands at 371 Main Street. The Ashmont stable was originally behind and to the left of the cottage as viewed from Main Street.

The stable was moved to Main Street and served as the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church Parish House, the Ladies Aid Society Building and an apartment and office building.
